Khor Yew Lok<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nKhor Yew Lok, 42, adalah usahawan syarikat pemborong yang sedang menyambung pengajian ijazah Sarjana Muda Pengurusan dengan Kepujian di OUM Taiping. Beliau berhasrat mencapai pengiktirafan akademik lebih tinggi meskipun telah bekerja dan belajar dalam pelbagai bidang perniagaan seperti perbankan, kesihatan & perubatan, insurans, perundingan hartanah serta pengurusan perniagaan.Beliau memilih OUM untuk menyambung pengajian kerana masa pembelajaran fleksibel dan mudah diikuti oleh pelajar yang bekerja (working adult) seperti dirinya. Program APEL membolehkan Yew Lok menggunakan pengalaman dan pengetahuan kerjanya selama 25 tahun untuk memperoleh kelayakan akademik tinggi di OUM. Beliau berharap ilmu diperoleh dapat diguna sebagai rujukan selain dijadikan inspirasi kepada golongan muda, terutama ahli keluarganya.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Mohamad Khairul Aizam A Razak<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nSeorang anggota tentera, Mohamad Khairul Aizam A Razak, memanfaatkan peluang pengajian dengan mengikuti program BOHSM di Universiti Terbuka Malaysia (OUM). Hanya berbekalkan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) dan Diploma Teknologi Persenjataan, Mohamad Khairul Aizam melanjutkan pengajian di OUM menggunakan APEL. APEL adalah laluan khas calon tidak memiliki sijil akademik namun mempunyai pengalaman kerja yang boleh digunakan. Kemasukan melalui APEL adalah mengikut piawaian Agensi Kelayakan Malaysia (MQA) dan diluluskan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi. Mohamad Khairul Aizam enggan lepaskan peluang bergelar graduan OUM walaupun mempunyai komitmen kerja, kekangan masa di tempat kerja dan di rumah. Ia disebabkan kursus diikutinya berpotensi tinggi dalam sektor pekerjaan awam mahupun swasta. Mohamad Khairul Aizam sedar, sebagai ‘adult students’, beliau perlu usaha dan bersungguh bagi memahami, menguasai dan menghayati setiap intipati pelajaran yang diterapkan berbanding dengan pelajar-pelajar yang lebih muda.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Cik Kalaiarasi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nCik Kalaiarasi merupakan pembantu akaun di sebuah syarikat logistik dan pengangkutan. Tidak mahu ketinggalan dengan arus kepesatan semasa, beliau membuat keputusan untuk menyambung pengajian ke peringkat sarjana muda dalam bidang perakaunan pada semester Mei 2019 melalui Akreditasi Pengalaman Pembelajaran Berasaskan Pengalaman Terdahulu (APEL). Umum mengetahui, tuntutan pekerjaan akaun selalu membuatkan beliau pulang lewat terutama waktu penutupan akaun bulanan. Ini merupakan cabaran utama dalam menyiapkan 4 tugasan secara serentak. Kursus yang melibatkan pengiraan pula perlukan tumpuan dan masa yang lebih. \u201cUntuk mengekalkan Purata Nilai Gred Kumulatif (PNGK) yang baik merupakan satu halangan besar buat saya\u201d kata beliau. Oleh kerana OUM Banting hanya 8 kilometer dari kediaman, peluang ini memudahkannya untuk ke kelas yang hanya 3 kali pada hujung minggu dalam satu semester. Pembelajaran secara atas talian telah membuka matanya kepada teknologi terkini dalam bidang pendidikan zaman sekarang. Tiada had masa, bila-bila dan di mana saja boleh akses kepada bahan pembelajaran. Fleksibiliti ini sangat memudahkan beliau mengurus masa antara kerja dan belajar. Tambahan pula, tiada waktu tertentu dalam menjelaskan ansuran bayaran yuran pengajian dalam satu semester. Ini sangat menggembirakan beliau sebagai pelajar. Kalaiarasi berharap ini menjadi contoh kepada warga kerja muda yang lain kerana pengetahuan yang diperoleh, bukan saja mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dalam bidang kerja, malah membantu syarikat mencapai visi yang ditetapkan seterusnya membuka peluang kepadanya posisi yang lebih baik di masa akan datang.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Kok Hooi Chen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nOUM provided me with the opportunity to rejuvenate myself when I was at the tail-end of my corporate career. I joined the program to test and stretch myself at that stage of my life. I graduated with the masters at age 55 after a 2-year meaningful learning journey in OUM \u2013 a great blend of academic and industry learning. Some of those who knew of my learning journey at OUM also took up the program. Now, I am a freelance HR consultant, trainer and coach. I am glad I can share my experience, learning and knowledge to help people grow and that gives me a lot of meaning in what I do.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
