All people should have access to lifelong learning opportunities that can help them acquire the knowledge and skills needed to exploit opportunities.

Our bigger mission

About APEL OUM

OUM plays a significant role in supporting the nation’s aspiration to enhance and widen educational opportunities among Malaysians. Through the provision of Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), individuals can capitalise on their work experience and prior experiential learning to gain admission into OUM’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Creating a sustainable world

Since its inception in 2015, the 2030 agenda has provided a blueprint for shared prosperity in a sustainable world — a world where all people can live productive, vibrant and peaceful lives on a healthy planet.

All people should have access to lifelong learning opportunities that can help them acquire the knowledge and skills needed to exploit opportunities.

This is because a good quality education is one that provides all learners with capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable livelihoods, contribute to peaceful and democratic societies and enhance individual well-being

APEL will help reshape the human capital development for the nation and also create opportunities for self-development, instil pride and confidence in self.

Promoting lifelong learning opportunities

Since 2006, The APEL programs serve to bridge the gap between traditional textbook learning and career development for positive change through our accredited experiential education programs abroad. With the launch of the SDGs, we are fusing the UN’s 17 Global Goals framework with The APEL Program’s model to continue exposing students to sustainability challenges and initiatives around the world.
